How to recollect a performance, a movement, a dance show? How to keep a trace of them, in order to document, to remember, to bring back to life a performance? Or how does a trace remain in the memories, beyond any will to archive? The voice, the painting, the image or sometimes its absence give body to the furtive art of performance and dance in the memory as well as in the realm of an exhibition.
Through the practice and experiences of choreographers and performance artists, the Villa Bernasconi presents the passing from the ephemeral movement to its inscription in time. A way of revealing the desire of artists to extend an action, to experiment with it from a new perspective or to confront it with an artistic, social and political context that differs from the one it initially comes from.
